2012-03 Release - Mountaineer

15135: Billing Control Panel - New

This release was primarily focused on migrating the current static Bill Summary Spreadsheet to TBS. The new Billing Spreadsheet and Billing Reports tools can be found on the new Billing Control Panel.

The Billing Control Panel is used to perform pre and post billing tasks in TBS. This page can be access from the Main Menu select Tasks and then Billing Control Panel - New. This link can only be accessed by users with access to the "Billing" module. Note: some of the functionality should be used only by PTT personnel and approved clients. Only the Billing Spreadsheet & Billing Reports tabs should be access by the client unless otherwise directed.

The main benefits these tools provide to TBS users include:

  • Billing QA Reports are available online as soon as the billing data is ready
  • No more waiting on compilation of a massive static spreadsheet
  • Data can be filtered to your liking and then exported if desired
  • Client has control to see as little or as much historical comparison data as needed
  • Drill down capabilities allow for issues to be researched within TBS with ease
  • Account level detail will be available to find differences / discrepancies
  • Overall – a quicker more efficient delivery of Billing QA data

Summary Data

The summary data provides “drill down” features which allows users to dive into the detail of each revenue bucket.

  • Billing Summary: All Revenue buckets are the same as current spreadsheet
  • Drill Down features allow for additional summary detail to be viewed
  • Detailed information is compared to historical information still showing the Percent Difference and Amount Difference over previous month

Filters and Parameters
The report has filtering capabilities to allow you to limit the set of data you want to view. These are accessed by clicking the "Show Filters" button. The Filters are as follows:

  • From and To Invoice Date - Determines the amount of historical data to be shown. To Date can be left blank in order to show the most current billing data
  • Commercial Flag - Filter by Commercial or Residential Accounts
  • Billing Cycle - Filter by Billing Cycle
  • Billing Group - Filter by Group
  • Base - Filter by Base

Expand All

Expand All & Collapse All buttons allows for easy viewing or hiding of all detail data

Exporting Data

Export features will export data as “shown” on the screen, i.e., any data expanded will also be expanded in the export. Any data not expanded in the TBS view will not be exported. All Data can be exported to:

  • Excel
  • Word
  • PDF
  • CSV

Additional Reports
Additional spreadsheet reports (CDRs by Day, Account Compare, etc.) are available on the Billing Control - Billing Reports tab.

Important notes about security and usages:

  • Users with access to the "Billing" Module will have full access rights to all functions in the Billing Control Panel
  • A Users Search Criteria will NOT be used to limit the results of any billing reports. Therefore, if a user has access rights to the "Billing" module, they will be able to see ALL billing reports with no limitations.
  • This page is only used for clients using Precision's "New" billing engine
  • Some of the functionality on the Billing Control Panel should be used by only PTT personnel and approved clients. Only the Billing Spreadsheet & Billing Reports tabs should be access by the client unless otherwise directed.

Additional release updates:

Admin Menu & Tab Style changes

The Administration Menu - New left sidebar navigation and tabs have been updated to a cleaner, more condensed layout. All top level navigation items are still present with easy access to tool group items by hovering over the top level link.

Case 23553 - Orders - Statuses that allow Adds

The Order Processing page was changed to allow users to add new products to orders when the Status is NOT: Completed, Rejected, Cancelled, or On Hold. Previously, users could only add new products to an order if the order status was: New, Credit, or In Progress. This caused issues for some clients with customized statuses.

Case 23593 - CABS Decline Analysis

BUG Fix: Cabs System allowed null Transaction amounts that would prevent an account from billing. This has been corrected and any null transaction amounts have been set to 0.00. Any affected accounts will bill normally during the next CABs Bill Run.
