2015-03 Mystique Release Notes
Overview
The Mystique release was primarily focused on a system Framework upgrade to .Net 4.5.2. While this upgrade doesn't present any visible interfaces changes to TBS, it does pave the way for some planned future enhancements coming later in 2015 for the Billing Control Panel and other areas of the system. Additionally, this release has provided some customer support tools for Agents as well as some general field and grid additions that will help enhance navigation and reporting. Please be sure to check out the details below.
General TBS - Enhancements & Bug Fixes
26707 - Allow Agents to Impersonate Customers
TBS currently supports the ability to Impersonate a user (Customer, TBS Internal User or Agent) by utilizing the Generate User/Agent/Customer Link functionality (now known as "Impersonate"). This tool was available to internal users only based on Update or Admin rights to the corresponding module (i.e., Agents, Customers, Users).
The goal of this tool is to allow an exact view into that user's login to aid in customer service, troubleshooting or training. Prior to this release, this tool was only available to TBS Internal users. This has now been expanded to allow Agents to utilize this tool as well for their customer bases if desired.
The goal of this change is to allow agents to log in to the customer portal as their customers in order to help with customer support. Agents with ImpersonateCustomers module access can now generate a customer portal login link for users by accessing the customer Actions tab.
Security for this feature has been enhanced and is now based on three new Impersonate modules:
- ImpersonateInternalUsers - Allows Impersonate links to be generated for TBS Users from the Users Maintenance Screen.
- Note: Access to this module is being backfilled by groups with update or admin rights on the MaintenanceSecurity module
- ImpersonateAgents - Allows Impersonate links to be generated for TBS Agents from the Agents Maintenance Screen
- Note: Access to this module is being backfilled by groups with update or admin rights on the Agents module
- ImpersonateCustomers - Allows Impersonate links to be generated for Customers from the Customer Actions tab.
- Note: Access to this module is being backfilled by groups with update or admin rights on the Customers module
27357 - Show Entered and Opened Dates on Home Screen Tickets Grid Development
Both Entered and Opened date are now displayed on the Home Screen Trouble Ticket Grid.
Entered date is defaulted to when the Ticket was entered into the system and Opened date can be manually filled and should represent when the ticket is acknowledged internally.
27339 - New "customer requested due date" Field on Orders Development
A new, 'Customer Requested Due Date' field has been added to Orders. This is an informational date field to track a specific date of delivery desired by the Customer. The field is informational only and can be used in reporting.
27303 - Expand Company Name on Base Development
Expanded Base Company Name field from 25 to 50 characters.
27856 - Upgrade Projects to .NET Framework 4.5.2 Development
Current technology is always a must. With this release, the TBS system has been upgraded to use the new .NET Framework 4.5.2. Prior to this release, TBS was using the 4.0 version. While it is not critical that we upgrade with every minor Framework release that is pushed out, it is important that we do not get too far behind. This latest Framework release was a great time to upgrade the framework and take advantage of some new infrastructure features that will aid in our upcoming projects. While there are not really any interfaces changes visible from this upgrade, there are some great new benefits to making this transition.
- New developer features, including improved support for asynchronous processing, which we will make wide use of in upcoming upgrades to the billing process.
- Better alignment with the client install base. As newer versions of the Windows operating system are released, support for older versions of the .NET Framework are phased out. Upgrading to the latest version ensures that Precision software will run on Windows 10 and the next version of Windows Server.
- Precision software been using version 4.0 of the .NET Framework since 2010, and version 4.5.2 is a highly-compatible upgrade. This upgrade gives developers the tools to create better software while maintaining system stability.
28211 - Bug: Custom Fields screen refreshing not working Development
There was a minor bug on the Custom Fields Screen that prevented data on the screen from being updated when the user refreshed the browser page. This issue has been corrected. Refreshing the browser will now re-load the Custom Fields data from the database.
29553: Bug Fix: Trouble Tickets Open Date/Time not saving
A bug with Date / Time fields on Trouble Tickets has been found and corrected.
Previously, the Open Date / Time, Close Date / Time and Callback Date / Time fields would only save if both the Date and Time fields were filled.
Now, if the Date is filled and Time is left blank, the system will default the time to the user's local time.
Traditional Products - Enhancements & Bug Fixes
27351 - Add Hunt Sequence to Voice Services & Local Tab s
An existing field, Local Hunt Sequence was added to the Voice Services Grid and the Local Services Grid to allow for easy identification of a customer's hunt sequence without having to search through numerous local products.
28175 - Bug: Tax NPANXX missing from Invoice Credit Screen Development
When applying a Fixed Charge Credit from the Invoice Viewer, the NPANXX can now be entered. This information is key for taxing Fixed Charges.
Additionally, this page was reorganized to make it more intuitive. All functionality has remained the same.
28804 - Bug: Line Counts on Voice Services Incorrect
Local and VoIP lines that were attached to Dedicated circuits were showing in the Voice Services count. This has been resolved. The Customer Portal Products grid will label these as 'Dedicated Local' and 'Dedicated VoIP'.
27387 - Bug Fix: Prevent Duplicate and Multi Traditional Products Development
The process used to prevent duplicate records has been improved on the Local, Long Distance, Toll Free, and Calling Card Traditional Products.
The other Traditional Products (including Dedicated, Internet, Cable and Wireless) had been previously updated with this improved logic.
