What does LSO stand for?

LSO is found on the Customer Information Screen.

This stands for the Local Service Office or NPANXX where the line is connected to the Local Office.

This LSO may be used to determine jurisdiction and drive taxing for any product it is associated with. Please be sure to review the Taxing in TBS documentation for additional information on how LSO is used in billing.

How does proration work in TBS?

If a charge (Local USOCs, Fixed Charges, etc.) is set to prorate, then at billing time, the charge will bill one month in advance, plus the time span between the active date and the billing date.

Example: Customer 1234 bills on the first of each month and the next scheduled run is 7/1.

They have a fixed charge set to prorate with a monthly charge of $10.00 and an active date of 6/21.

This fixed charge will bill $10.00 for 7/1 - 7/31 and will also prorate back to the active date and bill $3.33 (6/21 – 7/1 is 10 days = 1/3 of the month, $10.00 x 1/3 = $3.33)

If a charge is recurring it will only prorate back to the active date once, and it will not prorate for future dates, only backwards.
